Dr. Weinzierl is authorized to represent clients before the European Patent Office (EPO).
Practice Areas:
Dr. Weinzierl began his career in intellectual property in 2002 and joined df-mp in July 2008. His scientific background in molecular genetics, microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry and immunology enhances the firm’s large and diversified life sciences practice group.
Dr. Weinzierl’s practice focuses on representing German and foreign clients before the European Patent Office in patent prosecution, opposition and appeal cases, with particular emphasis in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical areas. He was involved in multi-party opposition and appeal cases before the EPO, as well as in patent litigation cases. Furthermore, he is involved in rendering patent validity and infringement opinions in connection with freedom-to-operate analyses und due diligence projects.
